Personal information on you and to you is only collected when you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details by enquiring about or ordering any of our services/goods. It is important to ensure that your information is kept confidential, under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1988. We want you to know about this. If you apply for finance on a car via Zebra Cars we do make some enquiries about you and we may also disclose some or all this information to our joint shareholders or subsidiaries or associate companies with the Group only. We do not supply your information to third party companies without your permission. The information which you give us about yourself, the details of any agreement and the history of business conducted between us will be retained by us in our records.
We may use a credit scoring system and search your record at credit reference agencies to help us decide whether to give you credit. The credit reference agencies will keep a record of our search.
We will give credit reference agencies the information we have about you, your agreement and payment record. This information will be shared with other businesses to assess applications you make for credit or financial services, to prevent fraud and trace debtors.
We and these other businesses may also use the information for market research and for analysing statistics. We or the companies mentioned above may use this information to write, phone or contact you by other means to offer products or services. This will only happen with your permission.
Information held by us will only be retained for as long as is necessary and legal to conduct any business relationship between us. You have the right to see a copy of any information we hold about you by written request and also if you pay the fee set by law.
The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 provide you with a right to cancel the contract at any time up to the end of the seventh working day beginning with the day after the day on which you receive the car. Working days excludes weekends and bank holidays.

If the contract is cancelled by you in accordance with these terms & conditions after delivery of the car we will give you the option of returning the car to us at our distribution centre at Steve Durkin Vehicle Service Ltd trading as Zebra Cars UK, Turner Road, Lomeshaye Business Park, Nelson. BB9 7DU at your expense or permitting us to collect the car from you, in which case we will charge you £200.00 plus VAT to meet our direct costs of recovery, in both cases within 10 days of the date of cancellation.
At the time of return or collection of the car you must provide to us all keys, the V5 registration document and all optional equipment and accessories and other documentation and items supplied with the car.
If you cancel the contract following delivery of the car you must take good care of the car until such time as the car is in our control and agree to such arrangements as are necessary to allow us to collect the car if we so require.
If we have taken possession of a part-exchange vehicle from you when you cancel the contract we may, return the part-exchange vehicle to you or pay to you a sum of money equal to the part-exchange valuation.
If you buy the car from us through a finance company and you cancel the contract, your notice of cancellation will be deemed to cancel the agreement between us and the finance company and the agreement between you and the finance company.
You will not be entitled to cancel the contract if:
- the car has suffered any damage which was not caused by us unless we decide to accept return of the car and agree an appropriate reduction in the amount of money to be returned to you following cancellation to fairly and adequately compensate us for the cost of repairing the damage to the car and/or any reduction in the value of the car;
- you are unable for any reason or refuse to return the car to us or permit us to collect the car;
- the car has been made to your specifications or clearly personalised;
- you fail to take reasonable care of the car, which for the avoidance of doubt includes increasing the mileage shown on the cars odometer by more than 150 miles compared with the reading recorded on the car handover checklist which we will provide to you on delivery of the car.
We will gather a certain amount of anonymous information about users which does not personally identify you. But which may be helpful for marketing purposes or for improving the services we offer. For example, we will track how many users visit a certain page, and for how long, so we can measure whether the site is effective. Generally, this information is collected through ‘traffic data’ and may entail the use of ‘cookies’, ‘IP addresses’ or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.
Vehicles advertised for sale are described accurately and to the best of our knowledge. As the internet is a 24/7 medium, vehicles are subject to availability. The company will not be held responsible for changes in manufacturers specification from those advertised and any changes to factory lead times. The company accepts no responsibility for any losses or damages arising from the failure to supply any vehicle.
Your personal information will be held on our databases until such time as you ask for it to be removed. You can do this by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. If requested, we will do this within one week of receipt.

As an authorised credit broker Zebra Cars UK can introduce you to a selected group of lenders who may be able to help you finance your chosen goods. The group of lenders are some of the UK’s most prominent and trusted finance providers and provides us with a range of products which may be suitable for your purchase. We will explain the key features of those products to you. We will receive payment from the finance company for introducing you to them. It is not a requirement of the sale to finance a vehicle purchase through the finance companies to which you are introduced. Zebra Cars UK’s introduction to a finance company or product does not amount to independent financial advice. If at any point you do not wish us to continue to find a suitable lender for your needs, please contact us. We arrange a suitable finance option for you in accordance with the information you provide us, other finance options are available. You may be able to obtain finance for your purchase from other lenders and you are encouraged to seek alternative quotations and details of their products by researching on the high street, in the media and online. If you require further clarification, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Zebra Cars UK, together with our finance partners will store your information. We may share this information with our group companies. Your information will only be disclosed to third parties in the normal course or arranging and administering and finance contract(s).
We or they may contact you by post, telephone or email to let you know of products, services and special offers that may be of interest to you or we may ask you to participate in one of our customer satisfaction surveys. You have the right to ask for a copy of your information held by us in our records in return for payment of an administration fee. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies or errors in your information. If you proceed to use our services, you authorise us and our lenders(s) to make all enquires necessary to verify information to enable them to consider your application. The lender will make an enquiry with Credit Reference Agencies to verify the information that you provide. It is important that you give us accurate information. The lender will check your details with fraud prevention agencies and if false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies. Law enforcement agencies may access and use this information. Other organisations may also access and use this information to prevent fraud and money laundering.
